Christmas Greetings and the Latest News from New Zealand
“Christmas greetings from New Zealand to all the Veterans, family members, and other members of the Italy Star UK. We have had an interesting year. One of our guest speakers, Jennifer Mallinson, a Kiwi who lives in Italy has just about finished writing a book on where the New Zealand 2nd Division was during the Italian Campaign. She has gone the length and breath of Italy following the trail of the 2nd NZEF. It will be a guide /history book on the Kiwis. Looking forward to it.
Our last meeting was interesting. We had Emma Ewart and Trevor Sommerville give us a talk on their respective relatives who served in the same tank in the 18th NZ Armoured Regiment. Emma’s grandfather survived but Trevor’s uncle was KIA.
