U.S. Army OSS attached to British 8th Army in Italy

I am seeking information related to Paul J. Paterni, a U.S. Army Lieutenant (Captain at the end of the war) attached to the British 8th Army for part or all of the campaigns in Italy during WWII.

I believe he was in Rome as German forces were evacuating the city and just prior to allied troops entering the city in force. I know he was in Florence with British units interrogating German prisoners.

I am also seeking information about 8th army interactions with Italian partisans, particularly in the region around and including Florence.
