My father was in the Royal Signals and was in Italy from 1943-45. After the Italian surrender he was in Rome in the MMIA from June 44 till the end of the war. He was billeted at the Hotel Vacconi on Via Principe Amadeo and worked in the Ministerro Della Corparazion building on Via Vittorio Veneto.
I am writing a biography about his wartime experiences and I intend to go to Rome and would like to find the buildings he was in, though obviously they are called something else now.
I wondered if you or your members could help, if not could you let me know of a museum or association that might be able to help, with their email address if possible. Many thanks.
