I am trying to find information on my wife’s uncle who died last year aged 102. Tommy (as he was known) served in the 7th Battalion Black Watch. He was captured in Sicily in 1943 and held in PG 73. When the Italians surrendered the P.O.W.’s were being transferred by train into Germany. Tommy and 3 other jumped from the train and made it by foot into Switzerland.
We do not know much more, so we hope the association can help with some more information.
Many Thanks,
Derek McCraw
