Thanks for this. I’m currently researching my father’s wartime career,a bren gunner private with the 5th Hampshire battalion. I’ve come to realise from accounts he gave down the years that he was one of the survivors of the dreadful incident at Hampshire lane. Happy to learn that the local Italians still commemorate and remember the events of that day.
